Barquisimeto, Venezuela…[Emilet Poloche/IAD Staff]

More than 900 people participated in an eight kilometer walk organized by the Venezuala Adventist Hospital Clinic on Sunday, May 16. The walk, themed “To Walk is to Live”, drew children, youth and adults from the area Adventist churches, as well as members of the community. Participants met at Parque Ayacucho at 7:30 a.m. for warm up and began the walk shortly afterwards, which ended at Metropolitan Adventist Academy.

Two special awards were given to the oldest participants, one of whom is 84-years-old, and to a girl who completed the walk in her wheelchair. Organizers also held an outdoor family activities after the walk.

Event sponsors included several Adventist organizations, as well as local companies. There were also expositions of books and food products.

Venezuela Adventist Hospital Clinic is one of two health organizations has 10 patient beds and is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
