Students across Adventist schools and universities throughout the Inter-American Division (IAD) will put away their textbooks and pencils tomorrow, Mar. 7, 2014, to pray, study the Bible and reflect on God’s blessings.

The initiative was begun many years ago by church leaders to promote the study of the Bible and a personal prayerful life for the thousands of students enrolled in Adventists educational institutions, says Dr. Gamaliel Florez, education director for the church in Inter-America.

“We want all our students from the pre-school to university level to pursue a close relationship with God through a prayerful life each day,” adds Dr. Florez. “On this special day of prayer teachers will be praying for students and their families and students will pray for each other and learn to draw closer to the Lord.”

To church leaders will travel to educational institutions across Inter-America’s 22 church regions to pray and participate in the special day activities.
