Seventh-day Adventist administrators, business and professional leaders from across the Inter- American Division (IAD) are expected to gather in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, August 12-16, for the annual convention of Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Inter-America.
The event, themed “Living in Purpose,” will feature worship, professional development, networking, and the launch of several regional initiatives aimed at expanding evangelism, health outreach, and digital ministry throughout Inter-America.
“This will be our greatest convention ever,” said Rohan Riley, president of ASI Inter-America. “We have assembled an outstanding group of presenters who will inspire and equip our members while helping launch initiatives that will continue long after the convention ends.”
Beyond its lineup of keynote speakers from the North American and Inter-American divisions, the convention will serve as a launching pad for new initiatives aimed at strengthening evangelism, health ministry, and digital outreach across the region.
“We want participants to leave with practical tools and opportunities to engage in mission,” Riley said.
Over the past two years, ASI Inter-America has experienced significant growth, expanding its network of chapters and increasing opportunities for member involvement in mission and ministry.
The organization currently operates 51 active chapters in 26 countries and has formed 20 new chapters since 2024. New or relaunched chapters have recently been established in Suriname, the British Virgin Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Puerto Rico, the Dutch Caribbean, and the Dominican Republic.
ASI Inter-America has also doubled the number of union-level chapters, increasing from six in 2023 to 12 today.
“One of our priorities has been strengthening leadership at the union level so that chapters remain active and sustainable,” said Balvin Braham, vice president of the Inter-American Division and secretary of ASI Inter-America. “We are focused not only on organizing chapters but also on supporting leaders who can help those chapters grow and thrive.”
As ASI Inter-America prepares for its largest gathering to date, Riley said the convention’s theme reflects a central conviction of the organization.
“God has a purpose for each of us,” Riley said. “Our responsibility is to make ourselves available so that He can work through us and use our gifts to advance His mission.”
