Colorful flags waved, folkloric outfits brightened the dome, and joyful applause echoed as delegates from across the Inter-American Division (IAD) gathered to celebrate five years of vibrant mission and growth. The premiere of the quinquennial report, Living the Mission, was a highlight of the 62nd General Conference Session in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 10, 2025.

The 13-minute video presentation offered a look at how Seventh-day Adventists across the IAD are living out their calling—from urban centers to jungle villages—through service, evangelism, compassion, and faith.

“What we have witnessed is the result of a committed church and the guidance of the Holy Spirit,” said Pastor Elie Henry, outgoing president of the IAD. “In Inter-America, mission is more than a theme—it’s a way of life. We don’t just speak of mission—we live it, breathe it, and act on it.”

Stories from the field—such as Indigenous ministry in Colombia, lay evangelism in Tobago, urban ministry in Panama, and health outreach at Mexico’s southern border—demonstrated the breadth of this living mission. “Mission drives everything we do,” added Pastor Henry. “We give thanks to God for the blessing of seeing how His work continues and will continue to move forward.”

Newly elected IAD President, Pastor Abner De los Santos, reflected on the legacy of leadership left by Pastor Henry and Pastor Leonard Johnson, former IAD executive secretary. “This report and Pastor Henry’s words inspire us and remind us that it is God who leads His church,” said De los Santos. “On behalf of the entire Inter-American family, I sincerely thank you for your leadership, your dedication, and your example of faith, which have shown us that mission is lived out every day.”
