The Seventh-day Adventist Church across the Inter-American Division (IAD) will join Adventists around the world on Sept. 5 for the launch of OneVoice27, an initiative designed to engage church members in a year of spiritual and creative preparation leading into 2027, when the church will commemorate 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus.
Centered on the message of Revelation 21:5, that in Jesus all things can be made new, the initiative will invite members across the IAD’s 25 unions to use their gifts, influence, and digital platforms to share Christ with friends, relatives, neighbors, and their communities.

Abel Márquez, communication director of the Inter-American Division, has been leading preparations for the Sept. 5 launch of OneVoice27 across the territory, encouraging churches, institutions, and members to unite in sharing Jesus through digital outreach and mission as they journey toward the global evangelistic emphasis in 2027. The Sept. 5 launch marks the beginning of a broader process rather than a one-day event, Márquez says. During the months ahead, members will be encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ while developing practical and creative ways to share their faith.
“If we are going to share Jesus, we need to draw closer to Him,” Márquez says. That includes prayer and Bible study as well as developing the technical and creative skills needed to communicate effectively through social media and other digital platforms.
Márquez describes the strategy as having two connected dimensions: OneVoice27 will first focus on uniting and preparing church members around a common mission, leading into the outward-facing All Things New evangelistic emphasis in 2027.

Mobilizing Across Inter-America
That territory-wide effort is already taking shape. On Aug. 19, union communication directors met virtually to review the strategy, available resources, and plans for engaging local fields, institutions, churches, and members ahead of Sept. 5.
The meeting followed a similar briefing the previous week with directors and teams from the IAD’s network of more than 80 Adventist radio stations, who discussed how their media ministries can engage listeners and church members. Communication and youth ministries leaders are also scheduled to meet next week as coordination continues.
Across the unions, plans are taking different forms.
In the North Mexican and Central Mexican unions, pastors are gathering to study the OneVoice27 strategy and consider how to engage members in their territories.

In the West Venezuela Union, communication director Javier E. Páez says leaders and members have been learning about OneVoice27 during the past two weeks. The Sept. 5 launch, he says, will provide an opportunity for congregations to join the worldwide initiative and begin shaping plans for their churches and surrounding communities.
Márquez says unions have the flexibility to shape their launch around local realities, combining IAD-produced resources with their own programs and creative approaches. “The idea is for everyone to get involved,” he says, encouraging each territory to find meaningful ways to engage its members.
Resources for Churches and Members
To support those efforts, the IAD is preparing materials in English, Spanish, and French, including videos, social media graphics, the official theme song, messages from church leaders, and content featuring creative disciples from across Inter-America for use in the lead-up to and during the Sept. 5 launch.

A monthly newsletter, distributed on the 27th of each month, will follow the IAD roadmap with resources, upcoming activities, updates from across the territory, and stories emerging from the initiative. The first special edition, scheduled for Aug. 27, will focus on the Sept. 5 launch.
As part of the Sept. 5 launch, unions will conduct programs tailored to their territories. That afternoon, a coordinated digital outreach effort will invite members across Inter-America to share OneVoice27 content, declare “I’m in,” and encourage others to join using the #OneVoice27 hashtag.
IAD leaders emphasize, however, that the initiative begins with spiritual preparation rather than social media.

“OneVoice27 does not begin on Sept. 5, and it does not begin with a social media post,” Márquez says. “Before speaking with one voice, we need to listen to His [God’s] voice.”
Looking toward 2027, Márquez encourages members to make their faith increasingly visible in the digital space. “Let’s prepare spiritually, but let’s also learn a little more about how to use our social networks to talk about Jesus as we journey toward 2027,” he says.
