Kenya: Accident Leaves Four Dead, 21 Injured …The driver of a bus carrying 76 Pathfinders from Kisumu, Kenya to the nearby Lake Victoria lost control when the brakes failed. The bus skidded off the road, rolled about 200 meters down a hill to the riverbank leaving four dead on the spot–three men ages 17 to 22 and one adult woman. About 21 Pathfinders were seriously injured and were admitted to the nearby hospital. They are reported to be in stable condition. Others were treated for minor injuries and shock and were discharged. A one-year-old was found underneath the wrecked bus without injuries. Philippines: Typhoon Seniang Batters the Philippines … Typhoon Seniang tore through the Philippines on Dec. 9 killing at least four people. More than 90,000 people across the country have been affected by the disaster. In response, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is providing food and shelter assistance to 2,615 people in the three provinces. More than 500 families will receive food items, such as rice, noodles, meat loaf, cooking oil, iodized salt, sugar, mongo beans, and sardines. ADRA is also distributing building materials, including nails, nipa shingles, and tarps to assist families in reconstructing their homes. [ADRA/ANN]

Canada: Adventist Pastor, Technology Pioneer, Dies … Following a six-year battle with cancer, well-known Canadian Seventh-day Adventist pastor Henry Feyerabend, speaker emeritus of weekly It Is Written (IIW) Canada and Esta Escrito telecasts, died on December 12 in Bowmanville, Ontario. As a pastor, author of more than 40 books and director/producer of some 850 TV episodes in both English and Portuguese, Feyerabend enjoyed many years of service sharing the gospel of Christ. Feyerabend launched the telecast Destiny, which ran independently for 20 years before merging with It Is Written, after which Feyerabend acted as IIW speaker/director in Canada until 2000. Esta Escrito, a Portuguese program Feyerabend began in 1972, continues to be aired on OMNI TV cable 4 in Toronto. Throughout his life, Feyerabend was known for harnessing the latest technology to help Tell the World about Jesus. [IIW Canada/ANN Staff]
