Below is  a message addressed to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America from President of the Inter-American Division, Elie Henry–IAD News Staff

This week Pastor Elie Henry reflects on the importance of children, adolescents, and young people in the church, and invites us to inspire them to live for Christ, to involve them in the life of the church, and to equip them to be faithful disciples. But also to pray for them so that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit and be  guided by His wisdom and discernment in all areas of their lives.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Inter-America,

I greet you as I express gratitude to God for the opportunities that we as a church have had during the first six months of the year in getting  involved in the mission of preaching the message of salvation. How

We started this month of July with several activities for children such as Vacation Bible Experience, youth campaigns, university students evangelism efforts, and online witnessing, among others.

As a church, we value the potential that children, adolescents and youth have to become followers of Jesus and agents of change in their homes, communities and churches.  We are aware of the challenges and negative influences to which they are exposed and for this reason, we have a duty to inspire them to live for Christ, to actively involve them in the life of the church, and to equip them to be faithful disciples. But we also have the duty to pray for them every day, that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be guided by His wisdom and discernment in all areas of their lives.

Proverbs 4:11-12, includes a promise that is a consequence of God’s wisdom and guidance in the lives of children and young people: I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.

I invite you to join in nurturing the faith and spiritual growth of our next generations.

God bless you,

Elie Henry, President
Inter-American Division
