Seventh-day Adventist local district pastors across the Inter-American Division [IAD] will celebrate the culmination of this year’s territory-wide certification training program on Oct. 25, 2023. The annual event is part of a comprehensive certification program to better equip pastors as they minister in more than 23,000 churches in the territory.

This year’s one-and-a-half hour online event will highlight the discipling leadership growth program running throughout the territory, said Pastor Josney Rodríguez, ministerial association secretary of the IAD.  “Throughout the months we have been reaffirming the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to move towards revival and reformation in the spiritual growth of each church member,”said Rodríguez. “It’s important to work together as ministers, elders and church leaders under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to maintain that environment of spiritual growth and  discipleship needed so that the gospel message can continue to be spread throughout each community.” It’s not about an initiative, program or an event but about the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he added.

Pastors and their spouses will receive their certificates of completion for the 20 hours of training they received as part of a special program certified by the Inter-American Adventist Theological Seminary for the past four years.

Themed “Empowered – Secrets of Revival and Spiritual Growth in the Kingdom of God,” the certification event will feature keynote messages by IAD leaders and include a special ceremony to honor district pastors and their families for their dedication and commitment to the mission.

The program falls on a month where church congregations across the territory are taking time to honor and appreciate the ministry of their pastor and his family. Most pastors in the IAD lead anywhere from two, five, 12, or even 20 congregations, Rodríguez said. “The event is a good opportunity to show appreciation for their leadership and commitment every day.”
