Adventists in Inter-America To Impact Communities in Need During Global Youth Day

Thousands of young people across the Seventh-day Adventist Church around the world will take center stage in their communities to unite in carrying out acts of kindness and sharing hope everywhere they go on Sabbath, March 17, 2018.

The annual special day coined as Global Youth Day, is sponsored by the General Conference’s youth ministries department and motivates young people to get out of their comfort zones to “Be the Sermon” as they show the love of Jesus in their communities.

This year, organizers have encouraged young people to take part in food and water drive detailed at gcyouthministries.org

“Our youth are on fire again, all excited about participating in Global Youth Day this year to minister to those in need,” said Pastor Al Powell, youth ministries director for the church in Inter-America. “The special focus this year will move young people to reach out to be more relevant in their communities and provide them with basic needs wherever they are.”

Young people across Inter-America will also distribute clothing, visit hospitals and nursing homes, plant trees and more, said Powell.

Global Youth Day activities around the world will be featured during a 24-hour live transmission on the Hope Church Channel and carried on globalyouthday.org

The Inter-American Division will host one and a half hours of the live transmission from the Atlantic Caribbean Union Office in Nassau, The Bahamas, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Miami Time.

The IAD live program will be carried in English and will feature activities from the 24 unions or church regions comprising the IAD.
