January 7, 2021 | Miami, Florida, United States | By Pastor Elie Henry, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Inter-America,
I would like to greet you and wish you a very blessed 2022. At the same time, I would like to invite you to join in the activities of what promises to be a year of celebrations.
As you may know, the Seventh-day Adventist family in Inter-America will be celebrating 100 years of the establishment of the Inter-American Division. For this reason, this coming Sabbath, January 8, we will have special programs across the 24 union regions of our vast territory.
With this event and various activities planned for the next few months, we will be celebrating the vision of our pioneers as they laid the groundwork that allows us to enjoy a sound church today. We will honor their faithful and committed service, as they gave so much, and left for us a legacy filled with conviction, faith, and hope.
We also celebrate how God has sustained His church since its beginnings, and emphasize in a special way 1922, as in that year, it was voted to establish the Inter-American Division. We praise God for having chosen us and trusted each one of us so that we may, from any place and field of service, continue our mission to serve, educate, and evangelize.
With such a privilege and responsibility, I invite you to start this day by consecrating your life to the Lord so He can live in and through you. May we as His disciples be watchful till the day He comes.
Let us make ours the words of the Psalmist, “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is your mercy toward me” (Psalm 86:11-13).
Let us celebrate today and every day that God loves us so much. Let us continue to be faithful to Him with all our hearts.
Happy Sabbath.
Pastor Elie Henry
