The wives of the elders of the church, should remember that they are suitable for the mission, because they were chosen as a couple, it is wonderful to have a Father who reveals his inexhaustible love, indicating the kind of life that the wife of elder should develop, training each year to achieve the ideal of God, to identify with the true leadership of an elder’s wife, and to develop the talents that God has given her in the different ministries of the Church.  In addition, she can be a great blessing in her husband’s ministry by using tact and prudence to support him without stepping on his responsibilities.

As the Bible says, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” (Ephesians 5:1-2.)

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” (James 5:14). A biblically qualified elder has a holy life, and “the effective prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16). One of the needs of the church is to pray for the Lord’s will to be done, and elders are expected to do this together with their spouse, the responsibility is joint.

Elders and their wives are God-appointed leaders of the church, appointed by God to shepherd the flock along with the ministerial couple. They are to be peacemakers, prayer warriors, teachers, example leaders, and decision makers for the advancement of the local work.
