The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will hold its annual baptismal celebration this Sabbath with a special live satellite event from Minatitlán, Veracruz, Mexico.

The live event, coined as “Lord Transform Me”, will be the culmination of a six-month-long evangelism effort by thousands of pastors and active church members across the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory.

More than 5,000 are expected to attend. Another four sites across the Inter-Oceanic Union in Mexico will hold hundreds more baptisms on the same day. Another 30,000 are expected to attend those events.

Thousands more throughout the church in Inter-America will also be welcoming new members into the church through baptismal ceremonies.

“We are looking forward to coming together and seeing the transformation each new person has had in Christ,” said Pastor Balvin Braham, assistant to the IAD president for evangelism and main organizer of the annual event.

The event will allow church leaders view how families, churches, schools and communities are being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and the involvement of church members, explained Braham.

Pastor Robert Folkenberg, Jr. will be the guest speaker during the three-hour event, which will be broadcast through The Hope Church Channel, Esperanza TV Interamérica, and 3ABN Latino, in Spanish, English and French.
