Below is  a message addressed to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America from President of the Inter-American Division, Elie Henry–IAD News Staff

October 21, 2022 | Miami, Florida, United States | By: Elie Henry, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America

Hello brothers and sisters, I am happy to greet you on this day when we celebrate Creation Sabbath.

While the world is forgetting where we came from and where we are going, Seventh-day Adventists believe that “God created the heavens and the earth” and that right now He is preparing a new heaven and a new earth for you and me. That is why today we emphasize worshiping the God of creation. You can participate by attending a special event and also by sharing this initiative. To do this, download the resources on the website that appears on the screen.

I take this opportunity to tell you about some special activities that will take place in the coming days. Throughout this year 2022, we have been celebrating the 100 years of existence of the Inter-American Division and on Sabbath, October 29, we will conclude our celebrations with a day of baptisms.  These baptisms are the result of a series of evangelism campaigns that have been conducted  across the territory.

So on October 29,  we will transmit two special programs from the Dominican Republic: At 11 in the morning, the Baptismal Celebration and at 4 in the afternoon, the closing of the Centennial Celebration.  The next day, we will begin the Year-End Executive Committee Meetings of the Division, for which we invite you to join us in prayer.

You know,  all these activities remind me of the solemn festivals of the people of Israel, where each one brought the best of himself or herself to offer to God: To the sound of trumpets, they brought the fruit of the land, grains, oil, animals, burnt offerings and gifts. And as Leviticus chapter 23 says, they were festivals that meant perpetual statutes for generations. Verse 43 says, “So your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’”

By offering God our prayers, our gratitude and our praise, we do so with  the hope that future generations will know that it is only because of  God that we have come this far. We pray that we will be living testimonies  that He is the only one who must be worshiped forever.

May the Lord bless you.
