St. Michaels, Barbados…[East Caribbean Conference/IAD]

Over 300 Seventh-day Adventists from Barbados, Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines gathered for the region’s business session to elect its church leaders, from August 8-10. Pastor David Beckles was newly elected to serve as president of the church in the East Caribbean Conference, after Pastor James Daniel announced he would not stand for re-election after having served eight years as president.

Pastor Dermoth Baptiste was re-elected as secretary and ADRA director, as well as Mrs. Sylgene Clarke who will continue as treasurer. Department leaders elected for the next four years included:

Stewardship/Trust Services/Family Life: Pastor Raulford Baptiste (re-elected)

Education: Norma Niles (Re-elected)

Personal Ministries and Sabbath School: Pastor Winston Cooke

Youth and Public Affairs/Religious Liberty: Pastor Anthony Hall

Ministerial: Pastor Orville Sutton

Women and Children’s Ministries: Alene Thomas

Health: Precilla Prevost

The church in the East Caribbean Conference is comprised of over four islands and has over 35,000 church members worshiping in 104 churches.
