Day five of the 61st General Conference Session in St. Louis, Missouri, saw world church divisions report on the growth, initiatives and outreach projects that have made the difference and helped spread the gospel in their countries and territories during the past seven years.
Waving their countries’ flags and wearing their folkloric outfits, delegates of the Inter-American Division (IAD) made their way on stage as Pastor Elie Henry, president of the IAD, and his wife Ketlie, looked on. They were joined by Pastor Leonard Johnson, IAD executive secretary and his wife Denise, and Pastor Filiberto Verduzco, IAD treasurer and his wife Alma. Also on stage was Pastor Israel Leito, former president of the IAD who served during the seven-year period before retiring in 2018. Pastor George W. Brown, who served as president of the IAD before Leito and was watching online, received a special mention.
“We are Inter-America and we celebrate 100 years of existence [of our Division] and it is a great reason to share our joy with you,” said Pastor Henry. “We celebrate the goodness of God toward us in this beautiful and great territory. Many stories, many testimonies, and videos of activities could be shared, he said. “We want to summarize really quick the last seven years of this period and praise the Lord for what He has done for us.”
The 12-minute video report featured the commitment of church leaders and members in spreading the good news of salvation and the initiatives that strengthened education, service, and evangelism.
