In less than 24 hours, Bible bowl finalists representing Inter-America's Seventh-day Adventist major regions will go head to head to compete in this year's Bible bowl grand finale set to take place live from Petit Bourg, Guadeloupe on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009.
Finalists will get to answer a series of questions on the Book of Revelation after months of drilling and competing against their peers in their local church territories.
This year marks the sixth Bible bowl held throughout the Division territory and promises to draw hundreds of online viewers throughout the territory. The competitions have made great strides in promoting the study of the Scriptures among Adventist youth throughout the territory, church leaders said.
“We are so happy again to have mobilized our vast youth membership into studying God's Holy Word and especially to have thousands young people this year studying such a key Book for these end times” said Pastor Bernardo Rodriguez, youth ministries director for the church in Inter-America organizer of the event.
Finalists from the North Colombian, Haitian, and Inter-Oceanic Mexican unions will not be represented in this year's competition due to last-minute travel visa complications, according to Pastor Rodriguez.
Inter-America's Bible Bowl finale competition will be streamed live over the internet on Dec. 12, at 3:30 p.m. Miami Time or 4:30 p.m. Guadeloupe Time. The live program will be held in Spanish with translation into French and English, from Palais des Sports Laura Flessel, in Petit Bourg, Guadeloupe.
