Finalists representing Inter-America’s Seventh-day Adventist major regions will compete in this year’s Bible bowl grand finale set to take place in less than 24 hours in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The event is scheduled to draw hundreds of Adventist youth from across the island at the Eliezer Melendez Auditorium, as well as thousands of online viewers, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.

Finalists will answer a series of questions on the Books of Luke and Acts on a laptop after completing numerous competitions alongside peers in their local church territories.

Already in its eigth year, Inter-America’s Bible Bowl competitions have brought thousands of young people to studying the Scriptures, an exciting reason to boast about, youth leaders an organizers said.

“We are delighted to see a youth mobilized by a committed study of the Bible,” said Pastor Benjamin Carballo, youth ministries director for the church in Inter-America. “It’s good to see how in tune our young people are to this initiative and how they continue to grow spiritually.”

Finalists from union territories such as El Salvador, Honduras, Cuba, Colombia and Jamaica will not be represented in this year’s competition due to last-minute visa constraints, according to Carballo.

Inter-America’s bible Bowl finale competition will be streamed live over the internet on Dec. 10, at 3:30 p.m. Puerto Rico Time or 2:30 p.m. Miami Time. The live transmission will be held in Spanish from the Eliezer Melendez Auditoriun, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
