Inter-America Sets Stage for 100,000-Site Evangelistic Initiative in 2028

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-American Division will begin laying the groundwork this month for one of its most ambitious evangelistic initiatives yet—territory-wide campaigns planned for 100,000 locations across the territory in 2028.
The preparation will begin with an online gathering on Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m. (Miami time) under the theme “Cast the Net on the Right Side: Called, Prepared, Together for the Mission.” Organized by the IAD Ministerial Association, the program will bring together pastors, evangelism leaders and lay evangelists to begin the spiritual and mission-focused preparation for the evangelistic campaigns, scheduled for May 20–June 3, 2028.

“This is one of the most challenging initiatives we have ever undertaken as a division,” said Pastor Josney Rodríguez, ministerial association secretary for the IAD. “We need to begin now to prepare the 100,000 preaching teams and the 100,000 locations, both spiritually and missionally.”
Preparing 100,000 Teams
The 2028 Impact evangelistic initiative is one of three major initiatives established by the IAD for the current quinquennium, Rodríguez said. With thousands of people expected to be reached across the territory, he emphasized the need to begin preparations well in advance.
“Because of the magnitude of this initiative, everyone needs to understand what we are going to do, how we are going to do it and what resources will be available,” Rodríguez said. “Most important is the preparation that each preaching team must begin making for that moment.”
The preparation process will include identifying prospective preachers and group leaders through each of the IAD’s unions.
“We want to begin now to secure the number of preachers and group leaders who will be needed,” Rodríguez said. “They will be identified through the unions so that we can inspire them, organize them and train them for this major evangelistic effort.”
Called, Prepared and Together
The online program will include a devotional message from the IAD president, three training presentations and a question-and-answer segment designed to help participants understand the scope of the initiative and the preparation that will be required.
The training will also connect participants with other mission efforts leading up to 2028, including ways they can support initiatives planned for 2027 and strengthen the involvement of local congregations in the broader evangelistic strategy.
For Rodríguez, the online event represents an early step in a preparation process that will require pastors, evangelists, lay leaders and congregations to work together across Inter-America.
The scale of the initiative makes early preparation essential, he said, particularly in ensuring that each of the 100,000 locations has a preaching team that is spiritually prepared and equipped for the mission ahead.
“This is why we need to start preparing now,” Rodríguez said. “We want every preaching team to be ready spiritually and missionally for what God can do through this initiative.”
The “Cast the Net on the Right Side” online program will be streamed live on Oct. 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (Miami Time) on webcast.interamerica.org.
