On September 23, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) of Jamaica donated pharmaceutical supplies valued at US$1.2 million (approximately J$75M) to the Jamaican Ministry of Health. The supplies cover a wide cross section of pharmaceuticals which will boost the stock of much needed pharmaceutical drugs by public health institutions after Hurricane Ivan devastated the island last September.
Dr. Marion Bullock-Ducasse, Senior Medical Officer for Jamaica and representative of the Minister of Health, said that ADRA Jamaica has been a true partner for the Ministry of Health.
“This is not the first or a one-off transaction with ADRA Jamaica,” she explained. “They have helped us many times before without any form of publicity.”
Pastor Claude Brown, director for ADRA Jamaica, stated that “ADRA will continue to play its part in ensuring that those who have suffered during our recent disasters will bring their lives back to normality.”
