Hours after the General Conference Session delegates voted to elect Pastor Elie Henry as president of the Inter-American Division on Jun. 8, 2022, Pastors Leonard Johnson and Filiberto Verduzco were elected as executive secretary, and treasurer respectively for the next three years.

Leonard Johnson has served as executive secretary of the church in the Inter-American Division since 2018. Prior to that he served as the president of the Atlantic Caribbean Union based in Nassau, The Bahamas. He also served as associate ministerial director for the IAD while serving as union president.

Johnson is an ordained minister and holds a Doctorate in Ministry from the Reformed Theological Seminary. He has more than 40 years of denominational service in the Inter-American Division territory.

A native of The Bahamas, Johnson began his church service as pastor, later as conference department director, conference executive secretary, conference president, and union president.

Pastor Johnson is married to Denise and they both have two adult children and two grandchildren.

Filiberto Verduzco has served as treasurer of the church in the Inter-American Division since 2000. He holds the record for the longest serving division treasurer for more than 22 years in the IAD. His election comes with a vast experience in managing the finances of the fast-growing membership across the 24 church regions in Inter-America.

Verduzco is an ordained minister and holds a doctorate in administration and master’s degree in Business Administration from Sonora Technological Institute. He has more than 44 years of denominational service in the Inter-American Division.

Born in Mexico, Verduzco’s church service began as general manager of the Inter-American Health Food Company’s COLPAC branch. His years of service also include vice president of finance and vice president of development of Montemorelos University in Mexico.

Verduzco is married to Alma Yanez and have two sons and five grandchildren.
